Colorado paid checkout availability

This article explains BorrowHive product behavior. It is not legal or tax advice.

Colorado paid checkout is available only in reviewed Colorado pickup areas. It is not a broad Colorado launch. BorrowHive will turn on paid support only for locations and listings that meet the current requirements.

Colorado paid checkout is limited to ordinary short-term tool and equipment rentals where:

• the rental term is 36 months or less,
• the renter takes possession in a reviewed Colorado location that BorrowHive has enabled,
• the item is a bare tool or equipment item rather than a vehicle, trailer, aircraft, boat, regulated item, operator-provided service, or service contract,
• the owner gives the required tax-paid statement for the specific item,
• BorrowHive records the pickup or delivery address and tax review, and
• refundable deposits are handled separately from rental charges.

Colorado cities that run their own local tax programs are excluded unless BorrowHive completes city-specific review and staff turns on paid checkout for that city. Centennial has been reviewed for future paid support, but paid or deposit-backed checkout remains off there until BorrowHive finishes the required setup. Members in Centennial may still use Free First app flows where product policy allows them, such as browsing, drafting listings, or testing Free First requests with saved future prices and deposits.

Because BorrowHive is headquartered in Colorado, BorrowHive is not treating Colorado paid rentals as automatically exempt from tax collection duties.
